Scripture Writing

Scripture Writing is just as simple as it sounds: using pen and paper, transcribe the words of the Bible. This can involve a beautiful, yet functional journal that you have on hand, a special notebook where you also write down what God is doing in your life in each day and season, or simply looseleaf paper or notecards. Use your creativity to write the verses in beautiful calligraphy or your own careful penmanship. Artwork is another special way to personalize the passage. But simply writing will do the job, too. The idea is to take God’s Word in through your eyes, process it in the brain, and deliver it through your hand. Taking the extra time to write forces your brain to meditate upon the words and the meaning of the passage that much longer, thereby helping you internalize and remember it better.

Each of the tools that we’ve shared on this site are easy and simple. Sometimes we start thinking that Bible study needs to be complex and deep. It truly does not. God can use even the simplest of activities, coupled with a humble, teachable heart, to accomplish His work in us.

To make this tool even easier, we’ve included a 30-day writing schedule. Give Scripture writing a try and let us know how it makes a difference in your walk with the Lord!
